Top 5 Must-Have Apps for Students to Boost Productivity and Learning

“In my productive era”

Overview

As busy as we are, being able to use tools helps us with efficiency and boosts our productivity. It is important that we learn to utilize these tools as they were intended to be used. As students, when we do this we are able to achieve much more in a shorter amount of time. Today we are going over the top five must have apps for students.

#1 Google Calendar

This app is perfect for time management and organizing your daily schedule. I personally use the app to schedule my classes, work hours, study sessions, club meetings, and lunch. This not only helps me stay on track but also allows me to see when I am available to meet with professors, or spend time with my friends. The nice thing about google calendar is the feature that allows you to organize your schedule with colors. Although, I highly recommend using google calendar there are many other options such as outlook calendar, the apple calendar app and many more.

#2 Youtube

Youtube has an abundance of knowledge for a large variety of topics and audiences. I have not personally used youtube yet in my college experience, but in the past I used it to help me better understand difficult topics and review for AP exams. I typically used youtube for subjects such as math and science, but there are youtube channels that do a good job of preparing you for other subjects such as history.

#3 Khan Academy

This is another app that I used a lot more in high school, specifically to help me develop better grammar skills and prepare for the SAT. Khan Academy partners with the college board which makes their SAT course and practice questions that much more effective. This course and many other courses on Khan Academy prompt you to develop an achievable schedule when it comes to practicing to ensure you will do well on test day.

#4 Quizlet

Quizlet is an amazing tool when it comes to review. It is basically an online set of flashcards you can take with you anywhere. Some features include a practice test, matching, and learning. Quizlet comes in both the free versions and premium versions. This is an app I would recommend most for students who are stem majors or are taking stem related courses as Quizlet helps with memorization.

#5 Canva

As a marketing major, I highly suggest learning how to use Canva. I use Canva in practically everything I do, whether that is planning events for a club I am in, working on the Modern Queen blog, or working on a group project. Canva has an endless amount of features that can help you create videos, visuals, or presentations. I currently use the free version which is sufficient for now, but if you can get the premium version I would highly recommend doing so.

Conclusion

As technology continues to develop and becomes more sophisticated it is important that as students we learn how to utilize our resources as tools. This not only helps us become more productive but allows us to develop skills that employers are looking for.
