Reset Days

All Work, No Play ~ the perfect recipe for disaster

Overview

It is all too often that we find our why and push ourselves past our limits for far too long. We work on building our dream lives without ever allowing ourselves time to relax and reset so that we can take on our next set of challenges. In order for us to maintain consistency, most people will find it beneficial to have a reset at the beginning or end of the week, known as Self-Care Sundays. Whether you chose to have your reset on Sunday or not is completely up to you as I prefer to have my self-care days on Saturdays. If you are someone who typically lives by the phrase “all work, no play”, putting aside a day to relax and reset might be a challenge in itself. That is why I have brought it upon myself to create a list of potential tasks one can complete on a self-care day.

Groceries and Meal Prep

When you’re a busy girl like yourself who has time to plan, go to the store, cut and cook the food you need just for one day? You don't, it's a waste of time and that’s where reset days can come in handy. The nice thing about reset days is that you can eliminate the time it takes during the week to do menial tasks such as meal preparation. Getting your groceries at the beginning of the week, with a meal plan, will also allow you to save money. Plus who doesn’t like a fully stocked kitchen. Meal prepping on your reset days will give you the upper hand throughout your week, so you can keep on doing what you do best.

Cleaning up after a long week

If you’re anything like me, you probably do daily tidy ups around your house or room. If you’re also like me, you’ll know that there are certain weeks where this just doesn’t happen. Whether it be because you’re too exhausted, that you just don’t have the time, or that it just might be one of your off weeks, the house can be a disaster. As I am sure you know, keeping a clean space is vital to your mental health and daily success. So if you had an off week, self-care days can give you the chance to clean up and get your space in shape for another successful week.

Skin-care and relaxation

Last but nowhere near least, it is important for us to take care of ourselves. That is why I highly recommend that on self-care days you take the time to have a full-body shower, complete your full skin-care routine, and pamper yourself while doing something you find relaxing. If you have no idea where to start with this, you could consider listening to a podcast, reading a book, journaling, watching a favorite show or movie, or even just having a little self chat. Whatever it is you choose, just know that there is always time for you.

Conclusion:

We are all busy women, building the lives of our dreams but never forget to take a moment to enjoy the journey along the way.
